26″x78″ Antique Solid Fir Interior Door w/6 Panels. Elegant, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA. It is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and is completely painted. It has a traditional, Colonial style 6 raised panel arrangement on both sides. When most people hear “pine” they think of a cheap, weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 – 20 year old trees doesn’t have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware : The door is not equipped with any hardware. Condition : Overall, the door is strong, sturdy, and in great condition. There are 2 bigger breaks along the lock stile edge (see last photo). Otherwise, the door has the typical nicks, scrapes, and scratches that you would expect to find on 100+ year old door. Will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, character marks. Refinish/Repaint : We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. The door is set up to swing into a room towards the left or away from the room towards the right. We could change the swing. Modification : Do you want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? Do you want the door bigger or smaller? We could modify it to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. 26 1/8 ” W x 78 3/8 ” H x 1 3/8.
