Offered is an exceptionally collectible vintage 1994 Sharon Anderson University of Wisconsin Badgers / Old Style limited-edition poster, preserved framed under glass and retaining its original identifying and licensing information on the reverse. This is Limited Edition No. 1509, dating directly to 1994 and officially licensed with the University of Wisconsin. The artwork is credited within the image: SHARON ANDERSON 1994 COMMISSIONED BY OLD STYLE This is not simply a later Wisconsin football image incorporating Old Style advertising. Sharon Anderson’s own published artwork catalog specifically identifies: Wisconsin Badgers 1994 Rose Bowl – Commissioned by Old Style. That documented commission history considerably strengthens the significance of the piece for collectors of Wisconsin athletics, vintage beer advertising and Sharon Anderson artwork. That figure pertains to Anderson’s original artwork, not the numbered poster offered here, but it demonstrates the importance and positioning of the underlying composition within the artist’s body of work. The piece offered in this listing is the vintage 1994 numbered limited-edition poster/print, No. 1509, rather than Anderson’s original artwork. 1994 WISCONSIN BADGERS / ROSE BOWL ERA The elaborate composition celebrates Wisconsin football and brings together numerous recognizable elements of Badgers tradition. ORIGINAL 1994 LIMITED-EDITION IDENTIFICATION The original surviving label on the reverse reads: 1509 Limited Edition 1994 “This product is officially licensed with the University of Wisconsin” This surviving label is particularly desirable because it establishes the piece’s period, limited-edition status and official University licensing directly on the object. HEILEMAN BREWING COMPANY, INC. LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN The poster was produced during the period when Old Style was one of Wisconsin’s most recognizable beer brands, creating significant crossover appeal for serious breweriana and vintage advertising collectors. The reverse additionally identifies: MADE IN U. DIFFICULT-TO-FIND SURVIVING EXAMPLE Only a small number of examples have been located in historical secondary-market archives, including WorthPoint, demonstrating that other numbered examples have surfaced over the years. However, another exact example was not located in our current active-market search at the time this listing was prepared, making currently available examples difficult to find. Even more importantly, Sharon Anderson’s own artwork catalog preserves the historical identification of the composition as the Wisconsin Badgers 1994 Rose Bowl image commissioned by Old Style. MULTIPLE COLLECTING CATEGORIES This piece has unusually broad crossover appeal.
