Titze is a well listed Austrian Sculptor who worked in the late 19th and very early 20th centuries. He is well known for his unusual subjects and extremely high quality and very lifelike Vienna Bronzes. This example is one of his best works. The polychrome patina is intact. Where most Vienna Bronze sculptors used the cold paint finish with some polychrome, Titze used exclusively the polychrome patinated finish that took longer and more skill to apply.
