Ntique Mission Style Entry Door w/9 Windows. Lovely, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The door is made of solid Douglas fir or pine and is painted on both sides. When most people hear “pine” they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 – 20 year old trees don’t have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. The door has a traditional, Arts & Crafts style arrangement of 9, true-divided windows. Hardware : The door is not equipped with any hardware. The door has 2 thin 1/8″ – 1/4″ gaps on the bottom rail (see 4th photo). This is not a serious issue and the doors can still be installed and used for decades without the gaps widening. However, we could close the gaps using clamps and reinforce/secure the corners using modern glue and some dowels (wooden joints). Message us for a quote. The height of the door was unevenly cut by 1/4. The cuts were most likely made to accommodate a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut any of the doors to an even height/width, or cut them narrower/shorter, or even build them up to be wider/taller– message us for a quote. Strong, sturdy, and in good structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, or any other serious issues. The bottom of the door is rotted (see last photo). However, we could cut out the rotted portion of the door and replace it with fresh, healthy wood. Otherwise, most of the blemishes that it ha. S will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, “character marks”. All of the glass is also intact and in great shape with only subtle scratches. The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door. As a result, you could install your hinges on either side of the door, allowing you to define their swing. Modification : We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass, plug the hardware holes, add decorative embellishments, etc. Door : 31 5/8 ” x 79 3/4 ” – 80″ x 1 3/8 ” Middle Window : 11 W” x 44 1/2 H” Too tall or wide?
