Vintage 1920s Style Soft Crown Phillies Wool Cap Gray Red Old English P Leather Band 1926 Throwback Road Away Game baseball hat. This rare piece features the iconic Old English “P” logo in red wool felt on a classic gray wool 6-panel crown with a matching red brim and button – a faithful tribute to early MLB cap designs. Era of Manufacture : Late 1970s to early 1980s. Size : Medium (black cloth tag with gold “M”). Crown : Unstructured gray wool, 6-panel. Visor : Red wool, green underbrim. Sweatband : Genuine brown leather. Logo : Red Old English “P” stitched through liner. I believe this logo matches the 1926 Road Away Cap based on more recent reproductions. Interior : Classic construction with black taped seams and beige lining. No modern tags or licensing marks. This cap was likely made by a heritage sportswear company or nostalgia supplier (possibly early Mitchell & Ness) during the pre-Cooperstown Collection era well before throwback caps became mass-produced.
