I did a bit of a restoration on this piece of Americana. Painted the actual tin ashtrays and tobacco tin. Rubbed entire thing with fine steel wool. It had a type of electric plug in lighter, that seemed beyond repair. The heating element was burt out, and the power cord was in terrible shape. However, I will include with ashtray. Modified the heavy glass lighter into a little light. Nothing permanent, just a circle of plywood with a hole, siliconed into place. Secure, but easily removed. The light is one of those strings of small LEDs for stuffing in a wine bottle with a fake little Cork with a switch. I don’t know, kinda thought it would look good and be useful in a darker Smoking room…….

These adorable canisters are not large, the tallest being 12 including lid and pedestal but would add charm to any kitchen. The Flour lid has a thin crack but seems in no danger of breaking. Ordinarily we don’t like listing cracked or chipped items, but let’s face it, these are too cute to pass up! Old Standing Holy Water Sprinkler Pedestal Aspergillum Wooden Plant stand. 11.5 x 11.5 square top. 14.5 x 14.5 square at widest area. I have seen similar item called a plant or pedestal stand, or Empire style. The auctioneer indicated it may have been from the Civil War era and folks could hide their valuables inside it. After we brought it home, our neighbor said that it looked like it was from the Roman Catholic Church he attended. They had just remodeled, and they kept holy water in the top of it. So, Im not exactly sure what this is. It is a quality wooden piece we have enjoyed for 25 years. We have used it as a pedestal stand.
