A classic example of her fetish carving work circa 1990’s. Ellen was the matriarch of the Quandelacy family of carvers….. She was known for showing the gender of her horses, as you can see this is a stallion. Note two small holes by the rear of the horse… This was to show the gender of the horse….. Her horses are highly sought after. Made for a pendant or necklace, with hole as shown…. Or for a stand alone carving. Still has a beautiful polish to the turquoise.

The top measures in at 23 1/2 inches long from the tip to end of arrow and 7 1/2 inches tall from the bottom of the arrow to the top of the carriage. With an entire measurement of 34 inches tall. This weathervane was salvaged off of an old English Tudor style home and was out in the garden area on top of a gazebo. I absolutely love the detail in this particular weathervane it is a horse drawn carriage and the man sitting in the buggy has the rains it’s still connect to the horse they’re very thin little pieces of metal that are actually still intact. Entire weathervane carry six charm all the way down to the letters that tape what direction the wind is going. The entire weathervane almost has a sort of English charm to it.. I’m not sure of the weathervanes true age but I do know it was part of a late 1920s tutor style home that is no longer there. It appears to be an overall good condition there is a bracket on the bottom allows for mounting a flat surface but I’m sure it could be removed and used on any surface that one desires. It’s items like this that ad such charm with architectural Decour and design. All items are salvaged by Eric’s Architectural Salvage located at 1540 W. Los Angeles, CA 90017.
